Join with downtown community gardeners in this massive, history-making march in advance of UN Climate Summit 2014!
Organizers anticipate that more than 100,000 people will participate, including many elected officials. Garden volunteers can join almost three dozen Lower Manhattan gardens to form a gardens contingent under the LUNGS banner. Make every effort to be part of this historic event. March with your family, friends and neighbors.
March Logistics: LUNGS are meeting at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21 on Central Park West, between 71st & 72nd St. The march begins at 11:30 a.m. We are marching in Section 3, as part of the Food & Water Justice contingent. Vandana Shiva, world-famous environmental activist and outspoken critic of genetically modified crops, will address our contingent before the march begins.
The NYPD will control access to the assembly area, so please enter Central Park West from 72nd or 77th St.
For more info and updates, visit People’s Climate March Logistics.
Our neighbor The Nolitan New York hotel has graciously offered to host the Garden’s first fundraiser on their rooftop lounge!
