Early Saturday morning, we expect a large delivery of plants, soil and mulch largely funded with a Neighborhood Grant awarded Elizabeth Street Garden by Citizens Committee for New York City.
We need your help from 7:00 a.m. – noon to unload the truck, spread bags of soil and place plants in garden beds. We need help most on the earlier side, to unload and neatly organize supplies, so please call your friends, and come out with your neighbors as early as you can to help!
Next weekend—Saturday and Sunday mornings, we’ll plant, spread mulch and prepare new beds for seeding…and of course, there is always necessary watering.

Jennifer Tamayo is the author of Red Missed Aches Read Missed Aches Red Mistakes Read Mistakes (Switchback Books, 2011) and POEMS ARE THE ONLY REAL BODIES (Bloof Books, 2013). Cecilia K. Corrigan is a writer and performer living in New York. Her first book TITANIC was awarded the Madeleine Plonsker Prize and will be published on Northwestern University Press in September 2014. Some of her recent work can be seen in n+1, at the Henry Review and can be read in Lumina Journal or the Capilano Review. Recent performance work includes Full Disclosure, first presented at Cage Gallery with Cammisa Buerhaus and Macgregor Card.
Beth Steidle is a writer, illustrator and book designer currently living in Brooklyn. Her work has appeared in Fairy Tale Review, Drunken Boat, DIAGRAM, KGB Bar Lit and several print anthologies. Her first book, The Static Herd, a collection of text and illustrations, was just published by Calamari Press.
Cassandra Gillig is a 21-year-old poet archivist from Chicago. She is currently writing about Carla Harryman, digitizing mimeo mags for Jacket2’s Reissues, cataloging weird stuff for The Poetry Project, writing a chapbook to be released by Perfect Lovers Press and sleeping on Katy’s futon. She loves Hannah Weiner, whose work you can read online at the Electronic Poetry Center.
Sophia Le Fraga is the author of L O V E S O N G (forthcoming), I RL, YOU RL (2013) and I DON’T WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE INTERNET (2012). Her writing has been featured in several places online, such as Lemon Hound, Gauss PDF, Poetry Foundation’s Harriet Blog and even Yahoo! Tech. She edits the Poetry section of IMPERIAL MATTERS, and with Ana Bozicevic, she is one-half of the tandem, not_I.
Camille Rankine’s first book of poetry, Incorrect Merciful Impulses, is forthcoming from Copper Canyon Press. She is the author of the chapbook Slow Dance with Trip Wire, selected by Cornelius Eady for the Poetry Society of America’s 2010 New York Chapbook Fellowship, and the recipient of a 2010 “Discovery” / Boston Review Poetry Prize. Her poetry has appeared in Atlas Review, American Poet, The Baffler, Denver Quarterly, Octopus Magazine, Phantom Limb, Paper Darts, Tin House, and elsewhere. She is assistant director of the MFA program in creative writing at Manhattanville College, editorial director of The Manhattanville Review and lives in New York City.
